Julie is a former booking agent for Norby Walters Associates/Famous Artists Agency in New York City. With 25+ years of experience in the entertainment industry under her belt, she has booked some of the biggest names in dance, club, house, hip hop, R&B and rap in the U. S. and overseas. She has worked with top artists as Patti LaBelle, KRS-One, Guy, Cover Girls, Tony Terry, Taana Gardner, Nice and Smooth, Ce Ce Peniston, Ten City, Shabba Ranks, LL Cool J, MC Lyte, Colonel Abrams, R. Kelly, Whodini, Sybil, Kid Capri, C & C Music Factory, Alexander O’Neal and New Kids on the Block.
Today, Julie is at task running Black Star Entertainment Group with partner David Peart.
Looking back to 1992, Julie founded Black Star Booking, where she began routing tours and scheduling shows for comedians, recording artists, and DJs. She has worked on projects with impresario Walter Latham, Jr. of Latham Entertainment and radio personality and concert promotor Dahved Levy. On the comedy circuit, Black has booked the likes of funnyman Bill Bellamy, Sheryl Underwood, Doug E. Doug, Capone, Talent and Brooklyn Mike.
Julie's is a Certified Community Producer with Brooklyn Community Access Television (BCAT).
She earned her Master's degree from the University of Nebraska and holds Bachelor's degrees from the State University of New York, and from St. John's University in mass communications.
